The assurance stack · how agents trust it
The brand says so.
A record sits behind it.
An independent party checked it.
The material itself was tested or traced.
The same claim reads sharper as the proof grows. An agent uses that level to decide what it can do on its own.
Strong proof: the agent can recommend and complete the purchase autonomously.
Good proof: the agent recommends, and says what it is sure of.
Weak proof: the agent flags it and hands the decision to a person.
Confidence is not truth. The passport shows the difference.

Published: Teikari and Fuenmayor, Digital Product Passports as Agentic Supply Chain Infrastructure, SSRN, January 2026. Every passport carries two scores, Trust and Completeness, built on this stack.
Why now
ESPR in force. It covers every product sold in the EU, US brands included. Apparel rules expected in 2027.
OpenAI, Google, Visa and Mastercard build the rails for agents to buy. Agents only recommend what they can verify.
GEO and AEO replace SEO. Since 27 September 2026, unproven green claims are banned in the EU. Verified data is the new ranking signal.
ESPR is the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, which will require Digital Product Passports product group by product group, with apparel among the first, expected before the end of the decade.
Market potential
Bottom up: about 25,000 fashion and lifestyle brands over $5M revenue in the EU and US, at a $40k mature ACV, is the $1B SAM.
Year 5 base case: 1,100 of those brands × $42k blended ACV, plus enterprise white label, equals $50M ARR.
Competitor landscape
Replicating OPEN.MODE requires building all three simultaneously, with fashion supply chain depth we have spent 15 years developing.
Traction and validation
Pre-revenue. Passport infrastructure built and proven end to end on real brand data. First paid deployments targeted Q4 2026.

Business model
Priced by SKU volume
Price follows the catalogue. A brand pays for the SKUs it publishes, so the fee scales with brand size.
Under 200 SKUs
200 to 500 SKUs
Over 500 SKUs
We start with the platform: 10 founding partners at $10k in Q4 2026, then tiered licences. Usage follows agent adoption; commerce is the upside layer, validated from Year 3. We never become the storefront: the passport sells on any platform.
Year 5 ARR by layer · total $50M
Retailers, platforms and ERPs run all three layers under their own brand · $250k+ implementation
Affiliate fee of 1 to 2% on sales an agent completes through the passport, on any storefront · attribution by passport ID
$0.01 to $0.05 per query, verification or agent interaction · billed to the brand
Annual licence priced by SKU volume: $12k · $36k · $60k+ across Standard, Premium, Enterprise
Year 5 base case: 1,100 brands at $42k blended brand ACV. Roughly $28k platform plus $14k usage and commerce per brand.

Every shopping agent reads, trusts and recommends products through a verified passport.

Appendix · frequently asked questions
No. A feed says what a product is. A passport says what a product is, who says so and how much proof sits behind each claim. Agents can act on that difference; a feed gives them nothing to weigh.
Platforms optimise for their own ecosystem. Brands need one neutral passport that every agent can read. Verified data, standards alignment and ERP distribution are the moat, and a new model release changes none of them.
Because the commercial return comes first: being found and recommended by agents. Compliance arrives with the same passport, so the spend is not wasted when the rules land.
Yes, twice. Any US brand selling into the EU falls under the Ecodesign Regulation. And US agents and retailers are where agentic shopping is moving fastest.
Fashion and textiles first, where the regulation and our depth are strongest. The passport model extends to other product categories as the EU mandate widens.
Through the systems brands already use. Our live integration with Zedonk, an ERP used by 750+ fashion brands, is the first channel; more ERP and commerce platform integrations follow.
From the brand's own systems, its certificates and its suppliers, graded on the assurance stack. Each field carries its evidence and its level, so nothing is presented as more certain than it is.
24 months to an MVP live with paying brands, $1.2M ARR and a seed ready company. The split is on the use of funds slide.
